The Tale Of Saladita

Saladita was a vaquera, a cowgirl so bold,

She lived on a ranch where the stories are told.

From a young age she lassoed, threw a rope from her horse,

And with each twist and twirl, she was never off course!

She wrangled up steers, and she galloped with glee,

But soon she grew tired—what else could there be?

She lassoed so well, she won every prize,

But her heart dreamed of something more thrilling in size.

So off to the rodeos, from Jalisco she’d go,

Riding through towns, putting on quite the show!

She lassoed so fast, it was a sight to see,

From steers to wild bulls, and even a bee!

But one day she wondered, “What haven’t I done?

I’ve lassoed all animals under the sun!”

So she set her sights on the waves of the sea,

“I’ll lasso a fish! That’s the challenge for me!”

She learned how to surf, with her hat on her head,

“I’ll catch that big fish!” brave Saladita said.

With her lasso in hand, and a heart full of cheer,

She rode every wave, without any fear.
